Degree in Public Accounting

The University Center of the Coast of the University of Guadalajara (CUCOSTA) opened its doors in May 1994, when the University of Guadalajara created the University Network in an attempt to generate educational spaces throughout the state of Jalisco. It was established as a model of higher education that would promote social and cultural development in the region of Puerto Vallarta, including the municipalities of Talpa de Allende, Cabo Corrientes, Mascota, Tomatlan, San Sebastian del Oeste, and the South of the State of Nayarit.

As a response to the demand in education from the local community, along with the existence of qualified teaching staff, Tourism, Administration, and Public Accounting were among the first Bachelor programs to be offered at CUCOSTA.

Public Accounting is a professional discipline of a scientific nature that is based on the theory of accounting whose processes allow for the financial and fiscal information of the transactions held between economic entities to be obtained, studied and verified.
