Academic Quality
General Background Information:
The Bachelor's Degree of Surgeon and Midwife of Centro Universitario de la Costa obtained certification as a first level academic program on January 15, 2016 with an expiration date of January 16, 2021, granted by the Generation of Resources For Accreditation in Nations of The America (GRANA) and Inter-American Organization for Higher Education.
The accrediting body of the Bachelor's Degree of Surgeon and Midwife at National Level is the (COMAEM) CONSEJO MEXICANO PARA LA ACREDITACIÓN DE LA EDUCACIÓN MÉDICA A.C. organism which we were accredited with date of 26/06/2017 and termination of the same for the 27/06/2022, with which we are in the process of reaccreditation.

We are an accredited degree, leader training, with academic excellence that applies knowledge, skills and attitudes with critical judgment and meeting the standards of medical practice under the values of humanism, ethics and teamwork, capable of administering resources, researching and applying the scientific and technological advances, for the attention of the disease and the health of its community.
Objetives
Objetivo general.
Train skilled doctors, scientifically and humanistically, with university identity, who adopt ethical behavior, with a preventive profile, primary health care and research to preserve the biopsychosocial balance of the individual, the community and the ecological environment.
Specific Objectives.
- Develop a program based on the evaluation that is built with the collaboration of all the University Centers of the Network;
Align th study plan to the intitutional policies related to the Institutional Development Plan 2010-2030 of our house of studies;
Conform a program considering international criteriato favor national and international mobility;
To build new scenarios that respond to social demands;
Consider the results of the evaluation of the last study plan (Plan 2000);
To update plans and programs in the area of comprehensive competencies, with emphasis on primary health and research;
To propose a program woth a network vision;
Design a curriculum that contributes to the accreditation and certification of national and international evaluation agencies;
Strengthen a program oriented to train a physician with identidy, ethical conduct and respect for biodiversity, with basic, preventive, clinical and social knowledge, with research skills that allow him/her to solve health problems, addressing them with a biopsychosocial approach, within the community and environment;
Update plans and programs in congruence with the XXI Century educational and academic model.
