The Social Service

Is the activity of training and application of knowledge carried out on a temporary and mandatory basis by students or interns of the University, for the benefit of different sectors of society.

The servicio social, must integrate the three substantive functions, linking the university with society and the sectors that comprise it, in support of the solution of the problems that arise, and at the same time supporting the comprehensive training of students.

 

It is essential in the comprehensive training of the student to complement their formative stage by developing civic awareness, service and retribution to society, in addition to also being a means of feedback from the University itself.

 

The workload to be fulfilled is 480 hours.

 

 

About us

The unit of Servicio Social is port of the Coordinación de Extensión.

We are the agency that guides, coordinates and supervises the students or interns of the 17 Educational Programs taught at CUCosta (Law, Administration, Architecture, Visual Arts, Biology, Public Accounting, Physical Culture and Sports, Design for Graphic Communication , Nursing, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Multimedia Communication Engineering, Telematics Engineering, Surgeon and Midwife, Nutrition, Psychology and Tourism), to carry out their social service, in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Promoviendo que el saber de los prestadores atienda las necesidades de la sociedad, a través de proyectos de impacto comunitario y de la vinculación con instituciones públicas, sociales y privadas.

Objectives

The servicio social in the Universidad de Guadalajara has the next objectives:

  • Extend the benefits of education, science and technology, technique and culture to society, in order to promote sociocultural development, especially of the most unprotected social groups;
  • Promote in the social service provider an awareness of service, solidarity, commitment and reciprocity to the society to which they belong;
  • Encourage the participation of students or interns in solving priority state and national problems;
  • Promote reflective and critical attitudes in social service providers regarding social problems;
  • Contribute to the academic training of the social service provider;
  • Promote and stimulate the active participation of social service providers, so that they have the opportunity to apply, verify and evaluate the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values ​​acquired in their academic training;
  • Strengthen the link between the University and society.

Functions

The Unidad de Servicio Social has the next functions:

  • Propose to the competent authorities general policies and criteria regarding university social service;
  • Promote the celebration of agreements for the provision of social service with institutions and organizations linked to the educational programs offered by the University Center; Promote social connection programs;
  • Coordinate the registration of social service programs and propose to the Consejo de Centro;
  • Coordinate the assignment of social service providers, according to the programs approved by the Consejo de Centro;
  • Respond to registration requests and issue the corresponding commission letter;
  • Monitor compliance with the Consejo de Centro social service programs, in accordance with applicable regulations;
  • Validate the termination of the university social service for the issuance of the release letter by the Secretaría Administrativa;
  • Be part of the  Consejo Técnico of the Servicio Social Universitario;
  • Integrate and update the information and statistics of the Centro Universitario social service;
  • Propose to the competent authorities the corresponding procedures manual;
  • Represent the Centro Universitario in events at the state, national and international level, regarding social service.
  • Keep control of the university social service file.

Inscription

According to Article 8, of the General Regulations for the Provision of Social Service of the Universidad de Guadalajara, students may begin the provision of social service when they have covered a percentage of the total credits of the corresponding study program, in accordance with the following criteria:

I.- Students of the terminal technical baccalaureate, intermediate professional technical, higher university technical and bachelor's degrees must have covered at least 60% of the total credits of the corresponding study plan;

II.- In the cases of the Law and Psychology Career study plans, 70% of the credits must have been covered.;

III.- In the studies of the degrees in Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Nutrition and the higher university technician study programs in the area of ​​health, as well as nursing at the technical level, they must have covered 100% of the credits of the course plan. corresponding studies.

 

Registration is carried out through the Social Service Administration System (SASS).

Procedures

The necessary processes and procedures that allow your accreditation are diverse. To facilitate the procedures and integration of the necessary documents, we have prepared sections where you can consult the corresponding requirements and formats for each of them.

Resign Social Service

Below you will find the document (PDF format) necessary to resign a social service position.

In Chapther Seven of the Reglamento General Para La Prestación Del Servicio Social you will find the reasons why you can give or request voluntary withdrawal.

Certificate of Release

The delivery of the Certificate of Release will be approximately 8 (five) business days, from the date of receipt,, by the Unidad de Servicio Social.

  • For students who completed their social service procedure in the calls, 2012B - 2012A - 2011B - 2011A and earlier, they must download the 3 (three) PDF formats, which are attached here.


  • If you performed your social service in the 2013 A, 2013 B, 2014 A, 2014 B, 2015 A, 2015 B, 2016 A call, the Final Report is prepared through the Social Service Administration System (SASS). Platform where you prepared your bimonthly reports. Once your FINAL REPORT has been signed and sealed by the agency, you must obtain the SEAL from the Social Service Unit to later attach it to the system.

  • The payment form will be downloaded from (SASS) under the following menu:  Alumno - Prestador - Acreditación, select your career, answer the Social Service Evaluation and upon completion, your payment order will be generated.

Convenios

In accordance with Article 19, of the General Regulation for the Provision of Social Service, the social, public and private sectors that have or intend to enter into an agreement on social service with the University of Guadalajara, must:

 

I. Present, within the deadlines determined by the University, the social service program, in accordance with the provisions of articles 3 and 7 of this ordinance;

II. Make known to the public at least once a year in the printed and electronic media, the cooperation that the Universidad de Guadalajara provides within the program and the benefits that society obtains from it;

III. Have a direct manager who is responsible for monitoring social service providers;

IV. Promptly notify the Unidad de Servicio Social de la Coordinacion de Vinculación and Social Service or the respective instance of the other departments of the University Network, the changes in the owner or recipient of the social service program;

V. Facilitate the supervision and evaluation of the social service program;

VI. Present a report on the development of the social service program, within the deadlines established in the respective agreement;

VII. Guarantee a dignified treatment to the social service providers;

VIII. Respect, where appropriate, university regulations;

IX. Designate tasks in accordance with the professional profile of the provider, and

X. Notify the Unidad de Servicio Social of the Centers and Systems of irregularities that arise with social service providers.

Reports

Bimonthly Reports

In the course of providing social service, the provider is obliged to present to the Unidad de Servicio Social, bimonthly reports of the activities carried out in the chosen agency.

To facilitate the process, delivery dates have been established by school calendar, which you can consult through this means.

Emerging programs

The Emerging Programs are a proposal so that Cucosta students, who work and study, can carry out their Social Service in a more flexible way in internal events that CUCosta has scheduled during the year, and external events such as health, ecological, tourist, etc

These events will integrate a light, flexible workload and not every day to facilitate the performance of Social Service.

PERAJ

Peraj-adopt a friend

It is a national program in which young university students carry out their Social Service as tutors (one on one) of public primary and secondary school children, supporting and motivating them to develop their maximum potential.

The Program seeks to strengthen the child's self-esteem, social skills, study habits, and broaden his or her general culture and horizons through a meaningful and personalized relationship between the university student and the child. The young university student who serves as a tutor becomes a positive role model for his friend.

Peraj-adopta-a-friend offers university students a space for citizen participation where they can develop and express their social commitment, enriching their human formation as future professionals, in addition to complying with the mandatory university Social Service in Mexico.

SOCIAL SERVICE SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships for Higher Education 2012

The Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP), through the Coordinación Nacional de Becas de Educación Superior (CNBES), dependent on the Subsecretaría de Educación Superior (SES), calls on students who are studying at the higher education level of Bachelor's Degree or Higher University Technician (TSU) in Public Higher Education Institutions (IPES) in the country, to apply for a Professional Social Service Scholarship if they are in any of the following cases:

  • Be studying the last two years of a Bachelor's degree program and be enrolled in a Professional Social Service program recognized by the IPES.

  • Be studying the last two quadrimester of Higher University Technician (TSU) and be enrolled in a Professional Social Service program recognized by the IPES.

The social service must have started from July 2012 or later, and must have proof of completion with a maximum date of July 31, 2013.

Only in cases where the Social Service is mandatory for one year (health areas), applications will be received in which it began from January 2012 or later and have a proof of completion with a maximum date of the July 31, 2013.

 

CHARACTERISTICS

The amount of support for the Professional Social Service Scholarship will be $9,000.00 (Nine thousand pesos 00/100 M.N.) and will be delivered in two presentations, the first upon acceptance and the second, once the objective of the project has been completed of the scholarship. The deadline for receiving the document that provides the conclusion of the professional social service will be July 31, 2013.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Present a certificate from the IPES in which you indicate being enrolled in a Bachelor's or Higher University Technical program, being a regular student (not owing subjects from previous school years) and having a minimum general average of 8.0 ( eight).

Present the program of activities that will be carried out during the performance of the professional social service, which may be issued by the IPES in which the applicant studies, but the document will also be accepted when it is issued by the company or institution in which the service is carried out.

  6. Not benefit from another scholarship simultaneously (Excellence average) under this Program, the National Scholarship and Financing Program (PRONABES) or any other SEP Program.

PROCEDURE

a) It is important that at the time of submitting the application to the Comprehensive Higher Education Scholarship System (SIBES), you have the following information available:

  • All address information, including zip code.
  • Unique Code of the Population Registry (CURP).

  • Institution that provides social security services.

  • Age and educational level of family members.

  • Monthly income of working family members.

b) The applicant must complete the online application through the Program's website from August 15 to September 30, 2012.

c) The applicant must attach to the application a scanned copy in PDF or JPG format of the endorsed documents (on letterhead, signed and sealed) that are required in this period, which accredit requirements 1 and 2 by the educational institution.

For requirement 3, the document can be endorsed by the company, the institution or the IPES.

Certificates from the IPES institutional page will be accepted only if they have the Institution's seal. File size should not exceed 400kb per document.

d) The Comité de Becas will publish the results on October 15, 2012 on the website and will notify the result via email to each beneficiary.

We warmly welcome you to the Registry of Aspirants for Social Service in the medical career.

Participate in the provision of health services to the population; with special emphasis on the first level of care, based on continuous quality improvement and addressing the problems and factors that cause and condition damage to health.

Contribute to the improvement of sanitary conditions and the environment by providing satisfactory levels of health to the general population by providing social assistance in support of family and community development and promoting education for social integration.

The period of Social Service includes twelve continuous months, with two annual promotions; one that begins on February 1st and the other on August 1st.

Nursing Bachelor's Degree

REQUIREMENTS FOR RELEASE FROM SOCIAL SERVICE:

  1. 4 ID size photographs.

  2. Not snapshots. Recent. No shine. B/W front photos. Badge size 3.5 x 4.5 without frame. Formal wear, men and women jacket, plain color, men tie. Full name on the back of each photo.

  3. Original proof of payment, signed and stamped by the banking institution.

  4. Write down on the payment receipt: Name, code, career, landline and email.

  5. The unit is not responsible for lost váucher that does not have the data of the interested party written down.

  6. Likewise for payments made to a different bank reference than the corresponding form indicates.

  7. 1 Copy of the identification sheet.

  8. 1 Copy of proof of affiliation and acceptance.

  9. 1 Copy of Social Service initiation letter.

  10. Original termination letter.

  11. Change of ownership document. (if applicable)

  12. Copy of the Kardex.
