My name is Alondra De la Cruz Rodríguez, currently a medical intern at UMF 179 and about to graduate from Centro Universitario de la Costa where I have given many opportunities for both personal and professional, in 2019 I was accepted for an academic stay by the Universidad de Murcia through the ILA program specifically at the Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca in El Palmar, Murcia, Spain where I studied the subjects of infectious diseases, digestive system, respiratory system and nervous system, the latter being of greater interest to me, I had the opportunity to learn, share and assist in some surgical procedures to Dr. Javier Ros and Dra. Beatriz Cuartero, specialists in neurosurgery who at all times gave me their support and with whom I am infinitely grateful for the quality teaching and words of encouragement they gave me to face the challenges of being thousands of miles away from home and open the panorama that there is a bigger world than I knew. the biggest learning for me was that stepping out of your confort zone despite language barriers, embarrassment and fear helps you discover that you are capable of doing things you never imagined. For new ideas to emerge it is necessary to adop the thoughts of others and what better than this type of opportunity where you share experiences with people from all over the world.
